Best Sunscreen – Which Ones Actually Work?
August 26, 2007
Trying to find the best sunscreen is difficult when you have several hundreds of products to choose from. Sunscreen companies claim “All Day Protection” and “Waterproof” as stamped across their products. The fact is that the majority of sunscreens do not work! A recent study by the Environmental Work Group revealed that 84% of the 832 products that tested did not offer proper sun protection.
To get the proper protection from the sun you need to block both UVB rays and UVA rays. At the current time there is only a rating (SPF) for protection of UVB rays. The fact is that we now know that almost all of the damage we get from the sun comes from UVA rays and there is no rating out there to indicate that kind of protection.
Even worse, those that do offer some kind of sun protection, don’t work immediately, take at least 30 minutes to become effective, and then can quickly break down in the sun. Many of these products can even start to break down in the sun in just minutes. This leaves even those with the best of intentions vulnerable to the harsh affects of the sun.
There is an easy way to quickly sift through the hype and eliminate 90% of the products out there that just don’t work. Stay tuned and I will show you how.
